Junior Sign On Day

McLeod slashes junior membership fees

McLeod Country Golf Club is getting into the swing of things in 2012 by slashing junior membership fees to an all time low.

Full-year membership at McLeod now costs only $35 for juniors aged 12 and under and $50 for those aged between 13 and 17 years old.

McLeod Country Golf Club President Di Paez said juniors were the lifeblood of the club.

“Juniors are the future of the club and if we don’t get juniors to play the game, then there won’t be any golf in the future,” she said.

“The current lack of juniors is impacting on our ability to field pennants teams.

“Golf is a very beneficial sport for kids, because it offers valuable health benefits, improves had-eye coordination, encourages interaction with others in a non-threatening environment and allows children to enjoy and appreciate the great outdoors.”

The Mt Ommaney based club is also holding a Junior Sign on Day on Saturday, February, 18 from 10am to 12pm at the club.

The sign on day will include a free sausage sizzle, putting competition, demos and exhibitions by golfing professionals, free sample bags for the kids and a tour of the championship winning course and the club’s facilities.

An eight-week junior clinic is also available for children aged between 7 and 17 years old. The clinics run on Friday’s from 3.45pm to 4.45pm and costs $70.
