Middle Park grandmother enjoys teeing off at McLeod

For 73-year-old grandmother Marlene Vallis, playing golf at McLeod Country Golf Club is not just about enjoying the sport she loves, but a chance for her to bond with her 13-year-old grandson.

Mrs Vallis and her grandson Sam Whiteman share the same passion and love for golf as each other, playing regularly at McLeod.

“Golf is the type of sport that you can enjoy with your grandchildren and pass on your skills to them,” Mrs Vallis said.

”I love the fact that we can play golf together and share tips and spend quality time together on the course.”

Mrs Vallis has been a member of McLeod for the past 34 years and is a former B Grade Club champion. She recently won McLeod’s 2011 A Grade monthly medal for February and March.
